Naming things - not my forte.

Let's face it - I haven't done this since high school - when I had a LiveJournal. I got quite good at formatting my layouts, but I never had to NAME it (as far as I can recall). Suffice it to say I had supreme difficulties on the page labeled "Name your blog!"

In effect, its a different period of my life, a soon-to-be new school year, and a slightly still new state - so here's to a new start in blogging.

So, for the first assignmenct:

1. Program Expectations

My expectations are to learn new things (hopefully many of them), be stumped at times with the new things I am learning, to not be defeated by my stumped-ness, and to use what I am going to learn in my classroom. I am fairly decent with the technology I have already used - I use my SmartNotebooks and Airliner on a daily basis. What I really would like to do is to get my students using technology in the classroom as opposed to me being the only one to use it.

2. One Exciting Thing

I am excited about this blog, for one - its been awhile since I've done something like this, like I said. I am also excited to learn how to make my webpage better - I would really love to be able to post my lessons on my website for students who are absent - its an under-used resource of my students.

3. Technology Changing my Classroom

As I've previously mentioned, technology is something I am used to using. What I am hoping will change is that my students will be using it more. I would like them to use technology resources to better their understanding inside the classroom. I hope they become accustomed to using technology that will figure prominently in the world that is progressively changing and moving forward (a world they do and will continue to live in). I am also hoping that they will use the technology resources I give them outside of school.

Mission: First Assignment - Accomplished.

With that, I leave you with the most ferocious, ill-mannered, snarling, snarky, attitude-driven, I-will-only-sleep-on-princess-pillows beast in all of Christendom. Her name is Tinkerbell.
